Dark Souls Remastered is being tipped for a shock  reveal at the imminent .

The latest reports suggest that Dark Souls Remastered will close the first Nintendo Direct presentation of 2018.

It would kind of explain the Nintendo of America Chibi-Robo tweet, which shares similarities with the famous ‘Praise the Sun’ pose (above) from Dark Souls.

According to Kotaku, Dark Souls Remastered will be announced for Switch during the conference, before being revealed for PS4 and Xbox One later.

The game is expected to feature new and improved visuals, as well as expanded multiplayer for up to six people.

Bandai Namco is also planning to bring Dark Souls 2 and 3 to Switch at a later date.

In terms of new game announcements, reports suggest that .

Konami is said to be working on the Wii Rebirth Trilogy, which would include Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth, Contra ReBirth, and Gradius ReBirth.

A Super Smash Bros port would also make sense, alongside new information about Metroid Prime 4, Pokemon Switch and more.

There’s also reports that Electronic Arts is planning to release a port of Fe on Nintendo Switch.

Perhaps we’ll even see the first wave of Virtual Console games, which are said to include Gamecube releases.

Rumours of a Nintendo Direct conference started late last year when a report suggested that a presentation was scheduled for January 11.

More recently, industry insiders like Stealth told Twitter followers that there is a strong possibility of a surprise Nintendo Direct conference taking place later today.

“Everything I have heard would strongly suggest a Direct is tomorrow (January 11),” Stealth tweets. “Early tomorrow. They need to announce soon.”

According to another of Stealth’s sources, the Direct conference could take place at 9am EST (2pm UK time).

Elsewhere, a Nintendo of Russia social media account is reported to have told an inquisitive fan: “Good afternoon! Follow the news – soon expected!”
