Portal is finally coming to Nintendo Switch, although there’s a major catch.
The Nintendo Switch isn’t getting a port of the original Portal or its sequel, but rather a brand new spinoff called Bridge Constructor Portal.
Developed by Headup Games, Bridge Constructor Portal is coming to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, iOS and Android.
Bridge Constructor Portal has a December 20 release date on Windows, MacOS, Linux and mobile devices, while console versions will launch next year.
“Hello and welcome back to the Aperture Science computer-aided enrichment center,” reads a new blog post.
You can check out the first wave of Bridge Constructor Portal screenshots and the announcement trailer below…
“We welcome all lucky applicants to Bridge Constructor Portal with our new vehicle-based test chambers, Quantum Tunnels and patented Aperture technology!” the post continues.
“For the last year we’ve been secretly working in our underground labs on the next iteration of the million-selling Bridge Constructor series.
“Bridge Constructor Portal will blend the laws of structural engineering and technology straight from Aperture Laboratories into an exciting new game experience, all under the demanding gaze of GLaDOS.
“If you’ve been paying attention the solution should be obvious. As the case may be… good luck!”
It’s been a good week for Nintendo Switch fans, who have been treated to some fantastic games news.
Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi recently said that he wants to work on consoles again, before praising the Nintendo Switch.
Capcom, meanwhile, announced plans to release Mega Man 11 on Nintendo Switch next year.
Likewise, Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 are being released on Nintendo Switch in Spring 2018.
