Stockton native Diaz hasn’t set foot inside the cage since suffering a majority-decision loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 202, a defeat he vehemently contested.

The Ultimate Fighter season five winner was offered an interim lightweight title fight with the belt’s current holder, Tony Ferguson, in May.

Diaz initially accepted the fight offer but pulled a U-turn as he felt he was being pressured into doing McGregor’s ‘dirty work.’

Nearly 18 months have passed since Diaz lost to McGregor at the T-Mobile Arena and many are MMA fans are wondering why we haven’t seen the TUF alumni back in the cage.

White was asked that very question at a media lunch last week and claimed Diaz’s lengthy spell on the sidelines is all his own doing.

“Nate Diaz turned down a fight with everybody on the roster,” the chief said.

“We’ve been offering him fights for (a long time). When was the last time he fought? A year-and-a-half-ago?

“For a year-and-a-half, we’ve been offering him fights. As a promoter, we have to offer him fights. Because we’re supposed to give him three fights a year.

“So we continuously offer him fights and he continuously turns them down.”

Diaz, 19-11, has yet to express an interest in returning to the , a fact which has led many to believe he may very well be done with fighting.
