That is the view of ESPN FC pundit and former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley.
Sterling has been in sublime goalscoring form for Manchester City so far this season.
The former Liverpool man has scored 13 times in all competitions, including three late winners in the Premier League.
Sterling’s form has led to rumours of a move to the Spanish capital to Real Madrid.
However, Burley thinks the reigning La Liga champions would not be interested in the 22-year-old’s services.
He reckons they would much rather sign his City team-mate Kevin De Bruyne or Chelsea star Eden Hazard, who has been linked with a move to Real in the past.
“He’s playing well, he’s playing well,” Burley said of Sterling.
“He’s playing well but if they’re going after people, they’re going after De Bruyne, they’re going after Eden Hazard.
“They’re going after people like that, not Raheem Sterling.
“As good as he’s been for City, there are better players out there in that position.”
Hazard has scored four goals in his last four Premier League appearances for Chelsea.
De Bruyne has scored four this season as well as laying on eight more for his team-mates.
