The Irishman began training horses in 1988 and has claimed 54 winners at Cheltenham over the years.
Mullins’ success comes across a number of races, but one still eludes hims: the Gold Cup.
Prior to training horses Mullines was an assistant to his father Paddy and Jim Bolger.
He was a six-time champion in Ireland as a jockey, winning the 198 Aintree Foxhunters on Atha Cliath and the 1996 Cheltenham champion bumper on Wither or Wich.
The 62-year-old is expected to have another successful week as Cheltenham festival comes round again.
Can he finally win the Gold Cup this year?
Mullins has never won the Gold Cup despite his incredible Cheltenham record.
But with this year’s race wide open he could have his best chance yet.
Djakadam could run but has not looked himself in recent months, while Total Recall has a chance as does Killultagh Vic.
